for the love of it (vol.21)

For the Love of It” is a series that explores Tarik’s deep passion for creation and self-expression through painting. He seeks out unusual, unpopulated locations to refine his skills and find solace from the stresses of life and the weight of past experiences. This process not only serves as a therapeutic escape but also rekindles his connection to the stories he aims to tell through his art. When his creative space feels overwhelming, these quiet spots become his sanctuary, allowing him to rediscover the joy of painting and the narratives woven into each piece.

Title: “Whispers of the Street”

Dimensions: 800cm x 650cm

Medium: Exterior paint and spray paint on concrete

Description:

This painting was born from a surge of raw emotion—a need to express what words often fail to capture. I set out to create a piece where water and instinct guided my hand, letting whatever wanted to be said spill onto the canvas. This was meant to be a first draft, but the act of creation made it the final work. Unlike everyday conversations, where thoughts are filtered and feelings restrained, this piece gave me the freedom to be unapologetically myself. It was a release, a rebellion against the pressure to present only polished perfection. Painting it exercised my mind, leaving me grounded and calm, as if I’d purged something deep within. I loved the tactile dance between brush and surface, the unspoken dialogue they shared. My street art defies the expectation to hide flaws; it embraces the raw, authentic pulse of life on this planet.

Bound by My Mind

Bound by my mind,
May love reason with me,
This world terrifies thee.

A smile tells observers
What they want to see,
Living in a world
That hates you and me.

Your hope is wheat,
I hear the cries of the street.
Fuck what you think,
My art is a vessel
For the angels to see.

You should free yourself,
And let yourself bleed.
Rage be your breath,
And set you free.

Walk past super fast,
With nowhere you need to be.
I stand tall for all to see,
Watch me become
The person I’m meant to be.

I hate the way
People look at me.
Let love in,
And you will see,
It sets free your being.
