FOR THE LOVE OF IT (VOL.17)
For the Love of It” is a series that explores Tarik’s deep passion for creation and self-expression through painting. He seeks out unusual, unpopulated locations to refine his skills and find solace from the stresses of life and the weight of past experiences. This process not only serves as a therapeutic escape but also rekindles his connection to the stories he aims to tell through his art. When his creative space feels overwhelming, these quiet spots become his sanctuary, allowing him to rediscover the joy of painting and the narratives woven into each piece.
Title: “Soothing My Soul”
Dimensions: 800cm x 650cm
Medium: Enamel paint and exterior paint on concrete
Description:
This painting is a raw outpouring of the small, overwhelming moments that clutter the mind—those fleeting burdens that feel heavy until you step back and see their place in the grand scheme of life. Created as an instinctive act of letting go, I poured unused, nagging paint onto the wall, freeing myself from its weight. The process was less about thought and more about action, allowing both the good and the bad within me to spill out.
Art, for me, is a creator’s release, but it also strikes chords with others. An elderly man passing by paused to share how this work filled him with joy and hope, a reminder of art’s power to connect. This piece is about shedding what no longer serves, clearing space for new beginnings, and embracing the freedom to start anew.
